I use these sizes when making lower profile rag rugs and for use with sheet yarn that is 1" to 2.25". These handmade 11 mm wooden crochet hooks are perfect for rag rug making with sheet yarn or can be used with heavier yarn. This hook is great for making a lower profile rag rugs and you can use sheet yarn that is 1" to 2.25". These hooks were my favorite sizes for the first several years of making rag rugs. The slightly pointed tip helps you navigate into the correct stitch however makes the pulling back through of the fabric easier on the hand, wrist and forearm. 14 mm is my newest hook made from maple and is glassy touch. Great for sheet yarn 1.25" to 2.5". The 16 mm is probably the most popular hook size for making rag rugs and a great all around hook. The 19 mm and 22 mm are great hooks for wider sheet yarn or thicker fabrics like denim and upholstery fabric. The rounded tip makes is easier on your wrist and forearm with the thicker heavier fabrics. My husband worked with me to tweak all of these hooks for fabric rag rug crocheting. I am pleased with the way they perform. They are approximately 8.5" long. Having a longer hook (8.5") makes it more comfortable than most standard crochet hooks. All the wooden crochet hooks are made with poplar which is a light wood, because they are handmade they will have slight variations. They feel great in your hand.
